ROXOR is a new side-by-side vehicle based on Mahindra’s 70 years of experience in building rugged off-road vehicles. The vehicle was conceived, designed and engineered by Mahindra Automotive North America. It is assembled in a new Mahindra factory located in Auburn Hills, Michigan--the first automotive OEM to open a manufacturing facility in metro Detroit in over 25 years.
This is an off-road vehicle only, therefore it is NOT legal for use on any public street or highway. The ROXOR was designed and engineered to comply with off-highway vehicle standards such as those promulgated by ANSI/ROHVA (American National Standards Institute/Recreational Off-Highway Vehicle Association), the premier member organization charged with setting forth stringent safety rules for vehicles like our ROXOR Side-by-Side. The “off-road only” nature of ROXOR also keeps the price point well below those of street legal SUVs and 4x4s.
Because ROXOR is not street legal Mahindra felt that 55 mph was a suitable speed limit given how most consumers are likely to be using the vehicle.
We have averaged 32 to 34 mpg in testing and a range of over 350 Miles. Your mileage will vary depending upon speed and road conditions.
The EPA off-road recreational vehicle regulations under which the ROXOR is authorized to be manufactured and sold impose restrictions and limits on topics such as weights and capacities.
More work-oriented accessories will be available in the future.

ROXOR’s more durable (and affordable design) utilizes simpler and more proven, reliable, mechanical components with fewer moving parts. There is less to go wrong on a ROXOR…and if something does, it’s easier to repair on the trail.
ROXOR’s beefier boxed steel frame, automotive-sized transmission, bigger wheels and brakes plus a torquey 4-cylinder, turbo-diesel engine enables it to pull more than smaller 2-cylinder powered side-by-side or UTV.
Starting price on 2019 base model is MSRP $15,999 USD; tax, title, dealer charges, freight/delivery and registration fees extra.
Mahindra is well known for its extremely reliable diesel engines for their tractors and automobiles. This feature, among others, give ROXOR a ruggedly different and unique position in the powersports industry. A gasoline engine will be available at some point in the future.
Special Edition ROXORs are exclusive packages with pre-determiened accessories, colors, and wraps. Go to the ROXOR A/T and Ted Nugent Special Edition pages to learn more.
The Limited Edition model was only available at launch in 2018, which included a variety of factory-installed accessories.

One could consider them distant cousins but they are completely different vehicles. The ROXOR is designed as an off-road vehicle only while the THAR is street legal in India. Mahindra Automotive North America (MANA) has designed and assembles the ROXOR in Michigan for sale through the powersports industry alongside other off-road only vehicles including ROVs, side-by-sides and UTVs.
